Going to a Game

No sports fan’s life is complete without going to see their favorite team play at home. Maybe you’re really lucky and live a few blocks over from where your team is located. Maybe they are on the other side of the country. Either way, you owe it to yourself to go seem them play at least once in your lifetime.

Soccer is Fun to WatchThere’s nothing like the experience of walking through the gate after presenting your ticket and seeing the playing field for the first time. This is where your favorite athletes perform. This is where all of those magical moments that you’ve watched on TV, and then saw replayed a hundred times on SportsCenter or on YouTube, occurred. Legends are made or destroyed here, and dreams are realized or crushed. And when you’re at a game, you are now a part of that. Most games are not that special, that’s true. But, you never know that before the game begins. No one expects something that immortalizes a player to happen before it happens, and being there for something special like this is something that you can brag about to your children and grandchildren someday.

Having great seats will make your experience even better. Going to a game is a special experience, for sure, but having awesome seats can make it even better. Renting out an executive suite for your friends and family at Wrigley Field will be something that you and the people you invite will never forget. Courtside tickets at Madison Square Garden will achieve the same result. It’s one of those things that doesn’t happen often, and when it does, you want to do it right. Having amazing seats and being surrounded by amazing people will make your first game (or second, or thirty-fourth…) one of the most exciting moments of your life.

If you can’t get the best seats, or you simply don’t care where you sit, there’s still an exciting time ahead of you. Even if you are in the seat furthest away from the game, way up at the top of the nosebleed section, you are still going to have the time of your life. For one, jumbo screens make it so that you can often see the action better than those in the good seats can. And two, being at the stadium with thousands of likeminded fans is always more fun than sitting at home and watching a game on your TV screen. Sure, you can have a quiet and intimate time with a few of your buddies in the man cave when you’re at home. But wouldn’t you rather be sitting with your buddies there, at the park? You don’t have to worry about making sure that everyone has enough to eat or drink when you’re at the park; they can just go to the concessions stand if they need to.

Being at the game also gives you bragging rights at work. When your office mate says to you, “Hey, did you see the Yankees crush the Orioles last night? The action was so sweet on my new 60 inch ultra high def TV,” you can come back and say, “Yeah, I saw it. The action was so much more realistic because I was sitting right on the third base line.” That’s a conversation stopper right there, and it’s one that you can always use to your advantage.

Going to a game is a ton of fun, regardless of where you sit or who you go with. But, when you’re looking for something truly special, make sure that you do it right by getting the best seats you can get.
