Instructor Training - August 7th

Schedule & Location:

Date: August 7th, 2010
Location: Aquatics Center at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon (Get Directions)
Time: 10:00am to 4:00pm
Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to start time to ensure you receive your packet, sign paperwork, and are ready to go by the 10:00am start time.

 

The Program:

The AQx Approved Instructor Training Clinic consists of a three hour classroom session that covers the principles and applications of the AQx training methods and general aquatic training. The classroom session is complemented by a three hour pool session where you will participate in the AQx program as well as observe and guide others. This training is designed to help you become comfortable with the AQx methods and provide you with the theoretical and practical tools necessary to train others.

Topics will include:

1. Overview of technique and unique qualities of water
2. Connecting Land & Water based training & rehabilitation
3. Research on both deep and shallow water
4. Overview of speed, power, and neuromuscular conditioning drills, etc.
5. Overview of running-related injury prevention and rehabilitation
6. Speed Development
7. Plyometrics
8. Medicine Ball & Physioball (deck & in pool)
9. Pelvic stabilization drills
10. Practical Assessment of Technique
11. Putting Workouts Together
12. Rehabilitation Modifications
13. Questions/Discussion

Please bring proper attire for lots of movement (running, jumping, etc.) in the water.
Men - we recommend shorts made of spandex or a similar material.
Women - we recommend either spandex shorts and a sports bra-like top or a one-piece suit.

Don't forget your towel!

Cost:

Clinic fee: $395 per person
Groups (3+ people from the same organization): $345 per person ($50 discount each particpant)
